Mid-Century Teak Sideboard by Sutcliffe “S Form”

Mid-Century Teak Sideboard by Sutcliffe “S Form”

A beautifully crafted Mid-Century sideboard from the “S Form” range by Sutcliffe of Todmorden, a furniture maker respected for solid construction and genuine attention to detail — qualities immediately evident in this piece.

Two cupboards flank a central bank of three drawers, each running smoothly on dovetailed joints, a mark of proper cabinet-making rather than mass-produced construction. The teak grain is bookmatched across the doors and drawer fronts, giving the piece a cohesive, high-quality finish, while the sculpted, hand-shaped handles add a subtle sculptural detail without overstating it. Inside, both cupboards offer adjustable shelving for flexible storage.

The base is a quiet highlight: tapered legs and a shaped central stretcher lift the cabinet visually, giving it a lighter stance than its generous proportions might suggest.

A solid, well-considered piece of Mid-Century furniture, built to a standard rarely seen in newer pieces.
